Office Documents: Upload Failed


Introduction

The following article will guide you through the process of resolving the issue of UPLOAD FAILED whenever it occurs in any Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) through Highstage:

Guide

Please follow the following instructions to resolve the issue.

  1. (Optional) If you have made changes to the document that you want to keep and upload to Highstage, then please click Save a Copy and save a local backup of the document before proceeding to the next step: image-20221007111721839

  2. Close the file. You will be notified that the changes are now saved locally: image-20221007112122951

    Important: You must remember to close the file before progressing to the next step.

  3. Open Word/Excel/Powerpoint and navigate to Open > Files Neeting Attention where the file will be listed: image-20221007112350290

     

    1. Right click on the file and select discard Local Version: image-20221007112653107

 

You have successfully completed the instructions. You are now able to access the file from Highstage from where you can continue working:

Disable Office cache

The following procedure can carried out on each individual workstation as a measure to prevent Upload failed.

Please do the following:

  1. Access any Office program (Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.)

  2. Navigate to Options > Save and locate the Cache Settings.

  3. Submit 1 in the "Days to keep files in the Office Document Cache".

  4. Check () the "Delete files from the Office Document Cache when they are closed":

  1. Click OK for the changes to be applied to all Office applications.

Success! You have successfully ensured that locally cached files are deleted upon closure of each individual file.
